Working Artist Studios is a much loved independent gallery and arts epicentre in Ballydehob (until 2018 in Skibbereen). It’s a building run by artists for artists & art lovers and combining artist studios, gallery spaces, a print room, and “Tailors Hall”: a multi purpose project space.

Working Artist Studios has been dedicated to the support of emerging and established professional artists since its beginnings in 2000. More than that, WAS is a flow of energy and a creative network of like minded people. Our studios are open to the public on an ‘open door’ policy: if the door is open, you can come in, talk with the artist and see their work in progress. WAS offers a vibrant all-year-round programme of exhibitions, workshops, events, art happenings and artist’s talks from artists both emerging and established, as well as our popular poetry & music nights hosting a number of top profile Irish and international poets.
