I am potter living & working in Ballydehob. I make functional pots to be held & used. Each one is unique - no bowl or beaker is ever the same. I love that people can reach for the pieces they are drawn to - to hold & feel the ceramic pots in their hands & to eat & drink from them. The glazes reflect the colours & the ever changing beauty of the natural world in West Cork. I love creating groups of pots of different sizes & shapes that can stack together & which reflect the shapes & colours found, for example, along a tide line or the line of a horizon. In order to make each ceramic vessel there is a magical interplay of the elements - earth, water, air & fire which transforms the clay into functional pieces that can be used in our daily lives over & over again.
