Fibre Craft: Weaving, Felting, Spinning, Dyeing

About

I taught myself to weave on a rigid heddle loom during Covid lockdown and loved it right away. I then took up spinning, dyeing wool and yarn so I could incorporate texture and colour into my weaving. Wet felting was my first fibre love and recently I felted a jacket which was an amazing experience as I dyed the silks and wool to the colours I wanted. As weaving is one of Ireland’s heritage crafts it can be traced back to the 1600’s, I would like to do my little bit and try to keep it alive. I give weaving workshops in West Cork where you can weave a scarf or table runner in a day. I am a member of the Fibre Craft Group, which is open to everyone, and we meet in Bantry Library every Thursday from 2 o’clock to 4 o’clock
